I’m overwhelmed! These are often the first words I hear when meeting a new client. And who wouldn’t be, when faced with the prospect of moving from the place you call home?
Whether you’ve lived there 5 years or 50 years, the prospect of moving is daunting and the question of where to begin seems unanswerable. But it is answerable, and manageable – one drawer, or one closet or one room at a time.
However, it really does help to have a plan, a timetable and someone to help you stay focused and on task. It’s too easy to get lost in that box filled with memories. Making decisions on what you feel you need to keep and what’s best shared with others, is often benefited by some gentle, compassionate guidance.
It’s hard to let go, we know that, but it can be done and is so much better to start now, while you’re able to make decisions and have control over what goes and where it goes!
